PRESENTER SET UP AND LOGISTICS

Thank you for being a presenter at the Queensland MINI-It Takes a Spark! STEM Conference on Wednesday, 25th June 2025

Venue: Grace Lutheran College, Rothwell Campus - Cnr Anzac Avenue & Mewes Road Rothwell QLD 4022

BEFORE THE CONFERENCE – checklist

Actions: Familiarise yourself with this information – know where to go, what to bring – BOOKMARK THIS PAGE

Please try to be as self-sufficient as possible by using the information provided here, we will have IT support and such but it will be extremely busy in the morning.

  1. Workshop room allocation + number of participants: will be uploaded asap
  2. *v6JUN – Presenter Information: Parking, Sign-in, WiFi, Connecting to TV/projectors (using VIVI), Set-Up PLUS what you need to bring with you!

General Information

Sign-in/Registration at MPC building – Everyone must sign-in and collect your name badge!

  • If you need to drop off materials for your Expo session
    • stop near the MPC, Sign-in at the registration desk, collect nametag, confirm the area you are assigned, drop off materials.
    • then park your vehicle in the car parks (see map).
    • or park in the parking area and check in as above.
  • Flow of the day
    • 10.00am Participants start arriving
    • 10.25am Participants Welcome – day begins
    • 10.35am Keynote Speaker – Assoc. Prof. Anita Parbhakar-Fox
    • 11.05am Participants move to Expo and workshops
    • 11.10am Rotation One (60 minutes)
    • 12.10pm to 12.30pm lunch
    • 12.35pm Rotation Two (70 minutes)
    • 1.45pm Where to next, feedback, close of conference
    • 2.00pm End of Mini-Spark

 


Arrive 9.15am to 10.20am

(ROTATION ONE is scheduled to begin at 11.10am however it may start earlier or slightly later depending on the keynote)

Sign in first, then set up in the assigned rooms before joining the conference opening. **You are welcome and encouraged to attend the keynote!**

STEM EXPO presenters: you are in the MPC building – same place as the Keynote be set up by 10.15am

    • Bring your own trestle cloths, extension cords and power boards if you are using power. There are power access points near the tables of those who have told us they require power.
    • STEM EXPO be set up by 10.15am to not disturb the conference opening (10.25am) and keynote speaker
    • Note: Be aware that there will be students ranging from Year 4 to 10 in the EXPO who will visit your activities.

ROTATION ONE Workshop presenters set up and ready to start by 11.00am

    • You will need to bring your own laptops and presentation clickers.
    • Each classroom has a dock with a HDMI cable to enable you to connect to the local TV / projector. You will need to have a laptop with a HDMI port to connect.
    • MAC laptops users will need their own cable and appropriate dongle to connect using the HDMI cables available in the classes.
    • IT staff will be available in the morning to assist. Each classroom has a phone. Please dial ext. 1066 for the IT Service Desk (or call 07 3897 2132)

 


(12.10pm to 12.30pm – lunch)

11.45am to 12.15pm

ROTATION TWO WORKSHOPSNOTE: your may have a rotation one workshop finishing up at 12.10pm in your room.

PROBLEM SOLVER presenters Arrive by 11.45am arrive with enough time to park, find your room, and set up. 

    • Problem Solver Session be ready to start at 12.30pm (session is from 12.35 to 1.45pm)
    • Sign-in at MPC
    • Let us know you have arrived – send a text to Adrian 0413 036 382
